This is me

Art and design have always been a big part of who I am. This passion has guided me through various creative fields, from graphic design to digital media and interactive experiences.

My career journey has been diverse and rewarding, spanning across print media, games, and interactive training simulations. Along this path, I discovered my passion for User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design, allowing me to blend my creative background with technical expertise.

Adaptability and a focus on delivering high-quality work are at the core of what I do. I’m eager to share more about my experiences and excited to collaborate on creating impactful and user centric designs together!

In 2021, I joined Consunet initially as a Quality Assurance specialist. Recognising my talent and passion for design and the company’s need for UI/UX expertise I quickly transitioned into a role as their sole UI/UX Designer. This unique opportunity allowed me to shape the user experience across all of Consunet’s projects.

My responsibilities included liaising with stakeholders, such as clients, users, SMEs, and engineers, to create functional user journeys and develop wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes. Effectively presenting design concepts and rationale was crucial, ensuring alignment with client requirements and end-user needs.

Throughout my tenure I worked closely with software developers, and system engineers to ensure seamless integration of the designs and assisted in implementing front-end elements to maintain a consistent, visually appealing experience.

Being the sole UI/UX designer at Consunet allowed me to grow professionally, collaborate extensively, and see projects through from start to finish.

Following the acquisition of DealerCell by Cox Automotive Australia in 2020, my role shifted to focus solely on support. With specialised QA personnel now handling testing, I dedicated myself to providing exceptional customer service, addressing user inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and effectively. Additionally, I took the initiative to thoroughly train others within the team, ensuring a smooth transition and minimising any negative impact upon my departure.

In 2016, AugiSoft transitioned into DealerCell, focusing on developing an end-to-end solution for dealerships to manage their finance and POS needs. Recognising my deep understanding of the system, having contributed to its creation, I was appointed as the sole Quality Assurance (QA) person at DealerCell. Additionally, I took on the role of primary Support person, handling customer inquiries through calls and emails, generating bug tasks, creating and performing testing for the software.

This dual role allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of user needs and the developer process, ensuring that the product met high-quality standards while providing effective support to our clients. DealerCell’s innovative solution attracted significant attention, leading to its acquisition by Cox Automotive Australia in 2020.

In 2011, I joined Dealer Essentials which later became AugiSoft, a small but innovative start up consisting of ex-car salesmen and a few software engineers who were developing training simulations for the car sales industry. Initially hired for my expertise in train simulation work as they sought to branch out into learning software for train drivers, my role quickly expanded due to my versatile skill set.

Utilising my talents as a graphic designer, I contributed to the business by creating gift boxes for car dealerships and advertising banners for their sales events. My experience with Adobe After Effects also proved invaluable, leading me to produce promotional videos for the company. Furthermore, I crafted realistic backgrounds for all of their training simulations, enhancing the immersive quality of their learning experiences.

As the business shifted focus and evolved into AugiSoft, my role continued to grow. While maintaining my responsibility for creating detailed backgrounds, I also lent my graphic design skills to help develop the user interface (UI) for the next generation of finance software for dealerships that they began to develop. This period allowed me to apply my creative talents across multiple facets of the business, contributing significantly to its success and growth.

In 2010, I joined SYDAC as a contractor, initially focusing on testing their simulations. When this work tapered off, I demonstrated my versatility by shifting to creating realistic 3D models for the simulations. Using 3DS Max for modelling and Adobe Photoshop for texturing, I proved to be an invaluable resource to the team.

Working under highly skilled 3D artists and collaborating with other team leads and developers at SYDAC, I gained valuable insights into how larger companies operate. This experience not only expanded my technical skills but also enhanced my understanding of project management and team dynamics within a professional setting.

2010

2010

My journey at Holopoint Interactive began when a former TAFE SA classmate offered me a position within their small but dynamic studio specialising in interactive entertainment titles. During my time there, from 2009 to 2010, I was primarily focused on creating 3D models for training simulations, using 3DS Max as my primary software application and Adobe Photoshop for texturing.

Working closely with other 3D artists and developers in this tight-knit group, we took on contracts from companies such as SYDAC. This collaborative environment allowed me to hone my skills and contribute significantly to the creation of immersive and effective training simulations. The experience not only strengthened my technical proficiency but also fostered valuable teamwork and communication skills within a creative setting.
